🗽 NEW YORK Series
Mineral Wool Insulated Panels for Acoustic Control
Description
The NEW YORK Series is intended for projects where sound control is a critical factor, whether to reduce noise levels, improve acoustic comfort, or manage reverberation within a space.
Rather than relying on a standard configuration, these systems are defined based on the acoustic performance required for each project, taking into account factors such as facility use, noise levels, space volume, and operating conditions.
Panels can be integrated into:
- Roof systems
- Exterior wall cladding
- Interior walls and partitions
- Interior liner systems
- Retrofit or acoustic upgrade of existing facilities
This allows for both new construction and improvement of existing spaces, enhancing acoustic performance without compromising functionality.
🔊 Acoustic Panel Configuration
System configuration is determined based on the level of sound absorption required and the operating conditions of the space.
System configuration allows for different material combinations depending on project requirements and selected manufacturing sources.
- High-density mineral wool (rock wool)
Interior Face:
- Micro-perforated or perforated (to allow sound absorption into the core)
- Solid or standard finishes (when direct absorption is not required, or when maintenance, cleaning, or appearance is a priority)
Exterior Face:
Standard metal facing, available as:
- Smooth
- Profiled (depending on wall or roof application)
- Pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI)
- Galvalume / Aluzinc (AZ)
- Aluminum
- Standard industrial coatings
- Architectural finishes
- High-durability coatings based on operating environment
Technical Note:
Interior face configuration (perforated or solid) is selected based on the required level of sound absorption, as well as operational, maintenance, and aesthetic considerations.
🔩 Joint Systems
- Tongue-and-groove systems
- Mechanically fastened systems (exposed or concealed)
- Configurations designed to support acoustic continuity
- Overlap joint systems
- Ribbed panels (3 or 5 rib profiles)
- Top-fixed systems with self-drilling fasteners
- Configurations designed for drainage and structural performance
Technical Note:
Joint systems are selected based on installation type and the acoustic performance required.
📏 Thickness Range
- 2” to 6” (≈ 50 mm to 150 mm)
- Additional thicknesses available based on project acoustic requirements
📐 Panel Dimensions
(typically between 36” and 42” / ≈ 900 mm – 1,067 mm)
Panels can be supplied in custom lengths to optimize installation and reduce field joints.
Application Range by Thickness
| Thickness | Typical Application |
|---|---|
| 2” – 3” | Light acoustic control / interior spaces |
| 4” – 5” | Walls and facades with noise control requirements |
| 6” | Applications requiring higher sound absorption |
Applications
Suitable for:
- Roof systems
- Exterior wall cladding
- Interior walls and partitions
- Interior acoustic liner systems
- Retrofit and acoustic improvement projects
